<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: March 23, 2020 <br /> Item No.:9.b <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Approval of 1 Temporary Gambling License <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 Chapter 301 of the City Code requires all applications for business and other licenses to be submitted to the City Council <br />3 for approval. The following applications are submitted for consideration: <br />4 <br />5 Temporary Gambling License <br />6 Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School <br />7 2072 Hamline Ave N. <br />8 Roseville, MN 55113 <br />9 <br />10 St Rose of Lima Catholic Schoolhas applied for Exemption from Lawful Gambling Licensing <br />11 Requirements to conduct lawful gambling activities as follows: <br />12 May 2, 2020 at Midland Hills Country Club, located at 2001 Fulham St. <br />13 <br />14 The Minnesota Charitable Gambling Regulations allow any nonprofit organization, which conducts lawful <br />15 gambling for less than five (5) days per year, and total prizes do not exceed $50,000.00 in value, to be <br />16 exempt from the licensing requirements if the city approves. <br />17 <br />18 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />19 Required by City Code <br />20 F INANCIAL I MPACTS <br />21 The correct fees were paid to the City at the time the application(s) were made. <br />22 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION <br />23 Staff has reviewed the application(s) and has determined that the applicant(s) meet all City requirements.
