From:Amy Haen
To:Thomas Paschke; Bryan Lloyd; Lonnie Brokke; Matthew Johnson; Dan Roe; Jason Etten; Lisa Laliberte; Wayne
Groff; rwillmus@msn.com; Janice Gundlach; Marc Culver
Subject:Re-Zoning @2395 County Rd B
Date:Thursday, April 16, 2020 9:10:50 AM
Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution.
This letter is in regards to the rezoning of the land at 2395 County Road B into a
medium density residential area. The proposed dense development could have a
major negative effects on our entire neighborhood. We request that this decision be
delayed until the entire Midland Hills neighborhood can meet with Roseville City
Planning Commission, Roseville City Parks and Recreation, Roseville Community
Development Director, Roseville Public Works Department, and the Roseville City
Council.
We are opposed to destroying this beautiful property and wildlife habitat to be
replaced by a town home development. Roseville has nearly 500 acres of parkland in
the city, but nothing in our neighborhood. On the Roseville map we can see that
almost all the parks are on the east and north sides - none on the far southwest side,
where we live and pay taxes. A wildlife park similar to Reservoir Woods with trails
would take advantage of the open wooded areas on that property.
The Midland Hills neighborhood is turning over, and there are now new families with
children in the area. These young families deserve a natural parkland that is within
walking distance of their homes.
County Road B is a limited access road with only one way into and out of the
neighborhood. The added congestion on this road will leave the walking path more
dangerous. Cars, bicycles, and pedestrians are already swerving around the street
and walking path to avoid potholes and any construction or maintenance vehicles
looking for a place to stop or park.
We hope the City of Roseville will decide to purchase this property, continuing a
legacy of parks for future generations.
Sincerely,
Rick and Amy Anderson,
