<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Meeting Tuesday Dec. 18 2.00 P.M. <br /> <br />186 <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present, Carlson <br />Willmus,Membrez and Hammereten. Mayor Mueller and Ira Karon were absent. <br /> <br />H~~ersten moved, seconded by Willmus that Geo Membrez act as Chåirman for the ð~ in <br />the absence of the M~or. Roll Call Ayes-(4) Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the last regular meeting of Dec. 5 and on motion by <br />Willmus,seconded by carlsoh they were approved as read. Roll Call Ayes-(4) Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The hearing on the rezoning of Lots 11 & 12 of Garce1on's Add. was declared open. There <br />being no one present objecting Hammersten moved, seconded by Carlson that the lots 11 & <br />12 be rezoned from Class "A" to Class "B" residence. Roll Call Ayes (4) Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Mr. Knute Haglund of T.H.~ & Co. Rd. C2 was present and asked if the Council had <br />jurisdiction over the speed limits in the Village. Converstation was held on various <br />accidents etc.Mr.Haghmd stated at least 20 people had been killed on the stretch of <br />highway mentioned since he has lived there. The Clerk was asked to write to Mr.Darrell <br />of The state Highway Dept.for a check of speed on T.H.8 from Co.Road "C" to Co. Rd."B" <br />and ask him if he could attend our next meeting to discuss traffic in the Village. and <br />notify Mr. Haglund so he and some of his neighbors could attend. <br /> <br />The Clerk was asked to have Mr. Karon give us opinions asked for in writing. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Willmus that Membrez contact a reputable auditor to take a <br />physical inventory of the Liquor stores and submit an audit. Roll Call Ayes-(4) Na.yes (). <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the operation of the Liquor Store.It was decided to wait until the <br />mayor took office. <br /> <br />Mr. Geo Heiling appeared before the Council about the property on Lexington & C and 'Wa.s <br />told we were waiting for an opinion from the Village Attorney on the Abstract he was <br />checking. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved,seconded by Willmus that we transfer $20,000.00 from the General fund <br />to the Fire equipment fund. Roll Call Ayes (h) Nayee -( 0). <br /> <br />Willrnus moved,seconded by Carlson that the Clerk issue a warrant to the Treas.for $30,000 <br />for Geo. Reiling as part payment on the purchase of property on Lexington & Co. Road ftC" <br />Ayes -(4) Nayes -(0). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson that we pay the Election judges 1.00 per hour and the <br />Constable 75¢ per hour.
