Sight
line issues - caused by drivers passing on the right of a left turning
vehicle - are believed to have been a factor in many of the 21 accidents
that occurred at the interchange from 2013-2015.
Traffic analysis shows that widening the roadway and providing dedicated
turn lanes on County Road B2 will lower crash rates. In a previous trial,
right -turn lanes were painted on the roadway in each direction without
widening the road, but they were removed due to traffic issues and
confusion. Lexington Avenue already has dedicated turn lanes.
1 RAlic MwE Y COUNTY
