<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSE'lTIIJLE <br />Continued meeting Tuesday Eve. January 8th at 7. OOP. M. <br /> <br />188 <br /> <br />The continued meeting was called to order at 7.20 by Mayor Connor with the followimg <br />members present.. Carlson,Will'1lus,Membrez,Cormor and Hammersten. <br />Mr. Brown of Burks St. was present and inquired what the Council could do about his <br />neighbors property. The O'Ueils are living in a garage without permission, and are building <br />a windbreak out of cement block~ without layimg mortar on them. The building inspector <br />was to be asked to make a check on the building and put on a red tag. Membrez suggested <br />that the constable contact these people and inquire as to what right they have living <br />in a garage without permission after an inspection was made by the building inspector. <br />Laying the blocks in the manner O'Neil was created a hazard for children who may be <br />going by as they were right on the right of way. <br />Herb L~mch and Don Rose of the Fire Department were present inquiring as to what the <br />Council was planning to do at the Fire Station. They were told that two lights of glass <br />had been taken out that day and a door wa~ to be put in, 50 the men could go back and forth <br />between the rooms without going outside. The balance of the space would be bricked up. <br />L~rnch was told to go ahead and brick in the required space ;md have a door put in. <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Willmus that the committee, on Fire Station be author~zed <br />to purchase two Fuel 011 tanks and have them installed. Roll Call.Ayes-(S) Nayes -(0) <br />The clerk was asked to chf'!ck the minutes and find out the amount the fire department <br />is permitted to purchase without perm1f1SiOll of the council, and "vrite the department <br />about it. <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Willmus that the County Surveyors department be givenl <br />permission to establish the grade on Marion St. to apprDximately 600 feet north of <br />Larpenteur and secure the necessary slope easements. Roll Call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O)..J <br />The clerk read a letter from the Stepnitz agency regarding the new site for on off- <br />sale store on Lexington ave. accompmlied with a lease,which was referred to the Village <br />Attorney for checking over. <br />Conversation was held on the Liquor stores.Cannor would like to look after the <br />running of it for the time being. Hammersten moved, seconded by Willmus that we close up <br />the on-sale store. Roll call Ayes-(S) Nayes-(O). <br />Membrez moved,seconded by Hammersten that the m~or be authorized to negotiate an <br />agreement with th~ owners of the property to release the space now occupied by off sale <br />stores with a reduction in rent,and submit a proposal to move off Bale business to the <br />space now occupied by on-sale store.
