<br />VILLAGE COm¡CIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Meeting Tuesday, January 15 at 2 O'clock P.M. <br /> <br />189 <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present <br />Carlson, Willmus,Membrez, Connor and Hammersten. <br />The clerk read the minutes of the previous regular Iaeeting,rrnd continued meeting <br />of Jan.3th and on motion by Membrez,seconded by Carlson they were approved as read. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes -(0). <br />Carlson reported that he and Frank Leinen the building inspector had looked at <br />the O'Neil property, saying the manner in w~ich the blocks were laid without cement <br />created a hazzard and a strmng wind could blow them down. Two red tags had been put on <br />the property, one sa;tJbng that they would have to get the consent of adjoining property <br />owners and the Village council within 30 days or they would be brought before the <br />Justice of the Peace. <br />Membrez moved,seconded by Carlson that the invoice for swivel chair purchased by <br />the Fire Dept. be paid. Roll call Ayes-(,) N~res -(0). <br />Willmus report.ed what had been done at the Fire station,saying he had contacted <br />Ralph Zenor a resident of the Village about two fuel oil tank8 a.nd the cost of a <br />Crane oil burner,and bricking in the fire pot,and installing new controls and a <br />complete job would be done for 450.00 The old stoker had been taken out. <br />Conversàtion wa.s held on the upkeep of the Fire station.Art Carrier had been look- <br />ing after it up to now, since Jan.1.Carlson was to tell him that the oil burner had <br />been installed and he would not have to check it an;yrJ.ore. <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson that Art Carrier be paid 2,.00 for his services <br />in looking after the property. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br />Connor reported on his conversation with the Peterson's on closing up the On sale <br />store and removing the bar. Plate glass had been installed in front windows. <br />They were to hold us to our lease for its expiration ,but knew of a party who was <br />interested in having a barber shop in the space we occupied as an off sale stor~. <br />They would help us get a good tenant,also wanted to know how much space we would need <br />in the basement. The present lease would run out its term and tþey would draw up a new <br />lease,eliminating the present off sale space. Peterson's should agree to the changes <br />we have made and sign a letter to that effect,affirming our action. <br />H~~ersten moved, seconded by Carlson that Connor and Membrez make the necessary <br />arrangements and secure fixtures not to exceed 500.00 for the new off sale place on <br />Lexington Ave. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br />The committee on new Fire station are to make further ~tudy on the building and <br />work out the details and meet with the Firemen at a future date to discuss the plan <br />with them. . <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Hænmersten that we authorize the purchase of a comfort- <br />able bed for the fire department. Roll call Ayes-(,) Nayes-(O). <br />The Sunset Memorial Park case was discussed and Connor and Hammersten were to <br />contact the attorney in Minneapolis and get up to date on the case, and get the Village <br />zoning map put on record. . <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Hmmnersten that the additional securities furnished by <br />the St.Anthony Bank be approved. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br />Hammersten moved,secondedby Membrez that the newly elected officers,namely <br />Herb. Lynch Fire Chief <br />Adolph Olson First Assistant Chief <br />Donald Rose Second Assistant Chief <br />Arthur Carrier Secretary <br />Mil~on Bahnemann Trea.surer <br />Kenneth Fabyanske Fire Marshall <br />Edw. Weigleåltner Assistant Fire Marshall <br />be approved. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br />An application from Northwestern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Co to bury a cable <br />under Shryer Ave west of Lexington was read and on motion by Carlson, seconded by <br />Hammersten the application was approved.
