o A brand new stage is calling all musicians, comedians, poetry readers &
entertainers! Share your awesome talents w/ the rest of Roseville at Open Mic
rd
Night. Come out the 3Thursday of the month at 7pm.
Open Cross Country Skiing/Snowshoeing/Skijoring/Sledding
o Cedarholm always opens its ground to those who want to enjoy a snowy winter
activity. In recent years, Roseville has collaborated with the local High school to
groom trails.
Roseville Boys High School Hockey Pancake Breakfast
o New to Cedarholm, the community is brought together for a hearty morning meal
served by their favorite boy’s hockey team.
The Cedarholm Community Building & Golf Course Programs and Events Transformation is
deserving of a 2019 MRPA Award of Excellence because of its unique ability to remove the
“Golfers Only” stigma and provide new and enhanced programs and events. We have been
thrilled with our planning process and are excited to present these opportunities to the
community.
Funding Plan:
When having the ability to offer new, unique programs and events to our community became a
realization, we quickly identified several funding mechanisms to make this happen:
Direct program and event fees
Golf Course revenues (green fees, equipment rentals, ect…)
Parks and Recreation Special Events Budget
Creative solutions (supplementing PT staff for volunteers, collaborating with other
agencies)
Future funding will become primarily direct as these programs and events grow year after year.
Collaborations:
Many of the programs and events have collaborations that range from event organization and
management to volunteer photography to grooming ski trails. We will continue to offer a tool to
support and leverage our communities groups. Some of the groups we have helped leverage
are:
The City of Roseville Volunteer Coordinator has been a tremendous asset to all of Parks
and Recreation. Most of our new and enhanced events have volunteers who are looking
to be engaged and give back to the community they live in. Volunteers are used for
Cookies and Cocoa w/ Kris Kringle and Candlelight Snowshoeing.
Roseville Visitors Association is the perfect guide to enjoying activities, finding events or
looking for general accommodations. The RVA hosted the first ever Let’s Hygge at the
Cedarholm Community Building in February.
4 | Page Roseville Parks & Recreation
15
