Please be prepared to approve or <br />amend. <br />Requested Commission Action: Approve/amend meeting minutesof August 6, 2020. <br />4.Presentation of Minnesota Recreation and Park Association (MRPA) Award of <br />Excellence <br />Annually, the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association (MRPA) presents the Award of <br />Excellence for notable projects and programs from the previous year. The City of Roseville <br />is the 2019 Award of Excellence recipient in the Administrative and Management Strategies <br />category for the Cedarholm Community Building and Golf Course. The application is <br />included in your packet. <br />Recreation Supervisor, Steve Anderson will introduce MRPA representative and Edina <br />Parks and Recreation Assistant Director, Tracy Petersen to present the award. Thanks to <br />all who contributed to make this award possible. <br />Requested Commission Action: Hear presentation and accept award. <br />5.Bennett Lake Water Quality Report <br />Commission member Joe Arneson recently suggested that the Commission receive a <br />report and update on the water quality in Bennett Lake. <br />ennett Lake is a storm water area managed by the Public Works Department through and <br />B <br />with the Ramsey Washington Watershed District as a part of its system of water bodies. <br />Included in your packet are slides for the presentation. Environmental Specialist, Ryan <br />Johnson will be at your meeting to provide updates and answer questions. <br />Requested Commission Action: Hear presentation and discuss. <br />6.S <br />taff Report <br />a.History of the NamePocahontas as a Person <br />At your last meeting, Youth Commission Member Andrew Kim indicated that he <br />has heard some community concern with the name of PocahontasPark. It was <br />suggested that this may be a good topic of discussion when the Commission <br />meets jointly with the City Council. <br />In the meantime, staff has done some research on the name Pocahontas as a <br />person and will provide a brief overview. <br />2 <br /> <br />
