Sustainability Update • Partners in Energy o Staff met with Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) to discuss recruitment of the Energy Action Team. Staff proposed a breakdown of: • 2 — 3 residents • 2 members from City Boards and Commissions • 2 members from the business community • 4-5 members from the community sector, including: Schools; community - based organizations; faith -based organizations; youth and seniors; refugee group; and Chamber of Commerce • 1 Xcel Energy • 1 City staff o Since then, staff created a webpage (www.cityofroseville.com/Partners-in- Energy), and also worked with CEE to create an application that people interested in being on the Energy Action Team are encouraged to fill out and submit for consideration. The application process will close on October 30, 2020 at 5:OOpm. Miscellaneous: • The rescheduled City Clean Up Event was held on Saturday, October 17u'. Turn out was very good. More statistics on the event will be presented neat month. City Council Update: • Approved Professional Service Contract with WSB for design services for the Twin Lakes Trail over RCD 4 storm sewer. • Approved Public Works Ordinance updates that were presented to the commission in August. Major Maintenance Activities: • Street and Storm o Started Street sweeping October 19, 2020. • Half of leaves are down on City boulevard trees. o Ongoing prepping of plow equipment for winter operations. Check brine making system. Plows, wings on, calibrating salt sanders. Plow stakes out at problem corners. o Ongoing Streetscape maintenance. Irrigation systems blown out. o Ongoing tree response to dead, broken limbs down from wind event. o Completed final mow. Mowers winterized and in storage. o Street pavement repairs and concrete sidewalk panels completed. o Ongoing final sump cleaning before freeze up. o Ongoing Compost site maintenance. Open for fall leaves. o Finished 2021 PMP Storm Sewer inspections. Water and Sanitary Sewer o Continued repairing water meters and MIUs. o Collected water samples for bacteriological and Disinfection By-product testing. o Continued working with city engineers and consulting engineers and contractors on the Galtier and Long Lake lift stations and the Booster Phase 3 Projects. o Continued the 2020 hydrant flushing program. o Completed inspecting and flushing private hydrants. o Continued the 2020 sewer inspection / cleaning programs o Continued working with our SCADA integrator (AE2S) on S.CADA upgrades for 2020.
