<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued Meeting May 27 1952 at 7 O'Clock P.M. <br />of Tue~day May 20 <br />The Village Council met on the above date in continued sessionÎ.with the following <br />members present: carlson,Membrez,Connor and Hammersten, Willmus abseht. Ira Karon <br />Village Attorney was also present. <br /> <br />215 <br /> <br />Emmett Williams Supt. of Schools Ted Schultz School Trea. and Mr. Lindstrom Of Magney <br />Tusler and Setter were present to discuss the drå1nage problem through the School property <br />They were concerned with the laterals that may be needed or any water that the Village <br />might want to run'in'frorti~east of Lexington Ave. They had made plans to increase the <br />size of the pipe to drain this area in the event the Village was not ready to go ahead <br />with their part of the drainage system. <br />Originally the County chart only planned on going south to County Road B when a <br />later survey showed going as far south as Roselawn or Shryer which naturally 1fOuld re- <br />quire a larger pipe through the High school area. <br />Mr. Lindstrom explained how the additional size pipe could be handled by negotiating <br />with the contractor. The whole project is too large to undertake at this time,~o the <br />logical plan would be to acquire Bennett Lake then work toward the South, assessing part <br />of the cost to the benefitted property owners and the balance to be paid by the Village. <br />The school board would have to give us an easement for right of use and any future <br />Council would have to adhereto it. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson that Ira Karon be instructed to write up the <br />necessary agreement between the Village Council and the School Board. Yi'hen the School <br />district grants to the VillQge an easement and right of use of the storm sewer across <br />the school property,in consideration of the Village that no future assessment would be <br />levied against the school district for benifits for construction of a drainage system <br />connecting to said storm sewer. Salverda be appointed Electrical <br />Inspector for the Village of Roseville and be compensated as outlined in the Ordinance. <br />Eell call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson that all bids on the re-modeling of the building <br />be rejected and bid bonds be returned to the various bidders. Roll call Ayea-(4) NayesO <br /> <br />Hammersten moved,seconded by carlson tþat we send delegates to the League of Munic- <br />ipalities Convention at St. Cloud June 11, 12, 13 with all expenses paid. Roll call- <br />Ayes-(4) Naye5-(O). .. <br /> <br />A letter from Erling Bolstad was read asking for the taking over of three roads in <br />Verde Haven Add. was referred to the Road overseer and Carley. <br /> <br />A letter from the County Surveyor's Dept. in answer to our request for an estimate <br />for blacktopping Shryer east of Hamline was received and clerk instructed to send a <br />copy to Mr. Myers who had requested the estimated cost in behalf of his neighbors. <br /> <br />A letter from several residents on Oak Point was received requesting a combination <br />street sign for So Owasso Blvd. and Heinel Drive. Carlson moved,seconded by Hammersten <br />that the signs be ordered. <br /> <br />A letter from Thos. Lynch Sec. of the st. Rose of Lima Men's Club regarding the <br />speed on Hamline Ave was ordered referred to the Highway Dept. <br /> <br />A petition for the vacating of Coleman St and a 20 foot alley in Block 2,Ryan was <br />read.
