<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued meeting Thur.Eve. June 19 1952 at 7 P.M. <br /> <br />223 <br /> <br />The Village Council Jlet on the above date in continued session with the following <br />members present. Carlson,Willmus,Membrez,Connor and Hamaersten. <br /> <br />The Clerk was asked to check the files on the Guligowski matter, he being of the <br />opinion that he was still on a monthly basis, whereas he was informed verbally by the <br />Clerk on the 31st of March that inasmuch as we were !loving to the new quarters,he would <br />no longer have much to do at the old building,except on a part time basis. He was a~ked <br />to keep track of the hours put in at the few meetings held on Hanù_ine and Co.Rd.B and <br />a financial arrangement could be worked out later. <br /> <br />The Clerk was asked to write Art Carrier about his looking after the new building <br />on Lex.and C during the winter months. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that he would be away for the next three weeks on a trip east, <br />In view of the Mayor being aw~ at the time of our next .eeting.Hammersten Jloved, <br />seconded by Carlson that Geo Me!lbrez be elected Vice Chairman of the Council.Roll call <br />'Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. John Wewers appeared about Laurie Road saying he has done work on the road'"', <br />twice to get it in shape and would like to have it oiled, as no oil has eTer been put <br />on the 500 feet the Village took over two years ago. He stated that the culverts that <br />had been put in on Fernwood and Sherren had helped the drainage problem a lot. <br /> <br />Meabrez moved,secobded by Hammersten that Carley be instructed to get the necessary \ <br />rock and oil to complete Laurie Road,and get it in condition. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nay(O . <br /> <br />Conversation was held on the condition of the roads in Dellwood Heights.A let of <br />work needs to be done there and not much was being done to get them in shape. <br /> <br />The Clerk was asked to call Crampton about RoseTille getting its share of the use <br />of County equipmwnt,and find out how much they can do for us. <br /> <br />It was suggested that we make out a program of work to be done on our streets. The <br />County's first obligation is the COllilty roads,and if there is any time left they could <br />work on Village roads if we had a road program worked out for them. The No.1 problem is <br />the drainage of Village roads. <br /> <br />The Clerk read a letter from ;the Village engineer pertaining to assessments for '--, <br />drainage,and discussion was held on various wBYs of handling it.The leV'lJ system or <br />by assessing various benifited property owners.The Mayor explained the revolving fund <br />system as used by Hopkins Minn. <br /> <br />Twelve me.bers of the Fire Dept. came to the meeting in a body to ask several <br />questions Imd get clarified a lot of rumors floating around. Why was only ten dollars <br />per da~¡ allowed for convention expense1 When will the alterations to Fire Station be <br />cOllpleted? They explained the stand by system. used in the department, and h2.d clarified <br />a lot of unfounded rumors. Mayor Connor explained the Fire system used in other commun- <br />ities that he had secured information on at the st. Cloud convention.He stated that most <br />communities have problems similar to ours. <br /> <br />The permit idea for building roads was suggested. It was agreed that any new <br />culverts needed for the proper drainage of new roads is the responsibility of the Village, <br />If catch basins ¡are needed we also furnish them effective June 19 1952. The clerk was <br />asked to check with the attorney on the matter. <br /> <br />One of the Firemen was interested in buying the stove that was purchased two years <br />ago as auxiliary to the heating 8,Ystem in the Fire Station.Connor movedJseconded by <br />Carlson that the Çlerk sell the stove for not less than 50% of its purcnase price. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) N~es-(O). <br />
