There are humane methods of population control along with birth control
Your
methods. Deer are wonderful animals who have made the parks in Roseville their home. These parks should be
Comment,
safe havens for them and as a community we should be happy that these magnificent animals are in our midst.
Question or
Concern
I understand how it might be frustrating when deer eat plants and flowers in people's yards, but there are things
people can do to deter them from doing this. Is it really necessary to KILL a sweet, innocent, and gentle animal
simply because they are hungry??? Seeing deer in our yard has brought my husband and I so much joy. Please
don't kill these innocent animals.
Aside from being cruel, lethal deer control methods don't work. I'm attaching two links that talk about non-lethal
population control and birth control. The fabulous vets and vet techs from WRC could help with giving deer
sterilization shots. These sterilization shots are effective for life. They are a win/win when it comes to humane
population control.
https://portal.ct.gov/CAES/Plant-Science-Day/2002/Non-lethal-Methods-of-Controlling-Deer-Population-Growth
https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/controlling-deer-populations-
