5. Natural Resources Stewardship Program Update <br />Commission member O’Brien suggested that a Natural Resources Stewardship Program <br />update be included in January and that Volunteer Stewardship Area Leaders be invited to <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />Parks Superintendent Jim Taylor and City Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Boggs will attend <br />your meeting to share an update on the Natural Resources Stewardship Program status, <br />progress and future needs. Area leaders have been invited to attend. <br />Requested Commission Action: Review, update, provide feedback. <br /> <br />6. Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Program Update <br />Emerald Ash Borer has been an ongoing discussion with the staff, Commission and City <br />Council. Declining Ash Trees are becoming more visible in the community each season <br />with the current limited resources. <br /> <br />Parks Superintendent Jim Taylor will provide his annual Emerald Ash Borer situational <br />update and be available for any questions or feedback. <br />Requested Commission Action: Review, update, provide feedback. <br /> <br />7. Discuss and Prepare for the Joint Meeting with the City Council on Monday,January <br />25, 2021 <br />Your annual joint meeting with the City Council is confirmed for Monday, January 25, 2021 <br />as part of the regular City Council agenda. <br />A typical Request for City Council Action (RCA) is in your packet for you to review. <br />You will have your Tuesday, January 5 meeting to prepare and finalize the RCA, <br />attachments and approach, as you are comfortable. <br />One item that should be considered as a priority discussion is the Pocahontas Park name. <br />Commissioners should consider what information they would like to share with the City <br />Council about progress thus far, what path you feel is appropriate for next steps and what <br />advice and guidance from the City Council you are seeking? <br />Requested Commission Action: Confirm calendars. COVID-19 Update <br />In compliance with the Governors Executive Orders, effective November <br />21 the City of Roseville temporarily paused most facilities, services and <br />available programming. <br /> <br />With restrictions, Parks and Recreation was able to offer: <br /> Golf at Cedarholm <br />Tennis/pickleball courts (weather permitting) <br /> Open skating at the MN OVAL <br /> <br />
