<br />VilLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILEE <br /><Meeting,Tuesda...v,september 16 1952 at 2.00 P.M. <br /> <br />244 <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present. <br />Carlson,Willmus,Membrez,Connor and Hammersten. Milner Carley Village Engineer and Ira <br />Karon,Village Attorney were also present. <br /> <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the last regular meeting of September 2 and the <br />continued session of Sept.8 1952 and on motion by Membrez,seconded by Carlson they <br />were approved as read. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Willmus that the bids on the catch basin installations <br />be opened. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The Clerk read the bids as follows Orfei & Mariani a total of $6,000.00 <br />Beatson & Kelly $6150.00 ' S.j.Groves & Sons $11,090.00 and Frank Serratore $ 4488.00 <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Connor that the bids be referred to a committee of two, <br />Milner Carley and Mayor Connor were appointed to tabulate the bids and report at the <br />next meeting. Roll call Ayes-(,) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mr. John Blekkink of 2480 No. Fairview who O'Wl1S nine acres of l;¡nd at that <br />location between T.H.36 and County Road "C" asked if he could conduvt a Trailer camp <br />on the premises. It was stated by Membrez that when the last Trailer camp was started <br />it was decided by the governing body at that time not to allow any more camps within <br />the Village as it created a problem with the schools. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the advisability of a Christmas Tree ordinance and its <br />benåfits,and several letters were read regarding it. Membrez moved, seconded by Hammersten <br />that Karon draw up a Christmas Tree ordinance with a fee of ten dollars for each seller <br />of trees. Roll call Ayes-(,) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Membrez that an ordinance be drawn governinS the <br />diggers of septic tanks and cesspools, and that they be licensed to operate within the <br />Village with a license fee of $2,.00 and that they have proper insurance coverage <br />with a minimum of $,,000.00 Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved,seconded by Carlson that the following resolution be adopted. <br /> <br />RESOLVED that the rent controls wi thin the Village of Roseville <br />be extended until April 1st 1953. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the old Village Hall and its use by the present tenant <br />John Rysgaard. It was the understanding of some of the Council members that it was to <br />be used for the storage of some ladders,but he has a paint shop there . There was some <br />question as to our insurance coverage. Connor moved, seconded by Hammersten that <br />EO~gaard be notified to vacate the premises on or before November 1st 19,2. Roll call <br />Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved,seconded by Membrez that the application of the Northwestern <br />Bell Telephone Co to bury a phone cable in Pascal Ave. crossing Skillman Ave be <br />granted. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Carley reported that a dry well was needed at 2100 Fairways Lane. Connor moved, <br />seconded by Hammersten that the dry well be installefl and that the blocks be purchased <br />from the Richfield Yards. Roll call (5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Ken Fabyanske the Fire Marshall reported on the conditions in the rear of the <br />Cut Price Grocery at Lexington and Larpenteur, He was asked to write them a letter <br />telling them to clean the place up in three daYE. <br />
