Roseville Public Works, Environment and
Transportation Commission
Agenda Item
Date: March 23, 2021 Item No: 5
Item Description: Ramsey County Ditch 4 Project Overview
Background:
As part of the Public Works 2021 Work Plan which was reviewed and recommended for
approval by this Commission in November of last year, the City is working with the Rice Creek
Watershed District and private development on a substantial storm water project. Currently, there
is an open, heavily vegetated ditch located west of Byerly's, adjacent to the new apartment
buildings being constructed in the area. The ditch runs south to north between County Road C
and Terrace Drive. The City and its partners are working to transform that ditch into a piped
storm water system with a lit trail on top.
City staff has been working with the developers and the watershed on this concept for over a
year and the City finally opened bids for this project on Monday, March 15'. Staff expects the
City Council to award a contract for this project on Monday, March 22°d
Ryan Johnson, Environmental Manager, will provide a presentation of the project, its challenges
and its benefits.
Recommended Action:
Receive presentations about the Ramsey County Ditch 4 Project.
Attachments:
A: Presentation
