Communication Items <br />30 City Engineer Jesse Freihammer provided a brief review and update on projects <br />31 and maintenance activities listed in the staff report dated February 23, 2021. <br />32 <br />33 Public Works Director Marc Culver updated the Commission on the Recycling RFP <br />34 that went before the City Council on February 22, 2021. <br />35 <br />36 Chair Wozniak inquired about the City's role is with the residential frozen pipes. <br />37 He thought the City attended to those when it occur <br />38 <br />39 Mr. Culver explained how the City handles frozen pipes within the City. <br />40 <br />41 Chair Wozniak mentioned the stormwater improvements for Saint Rose of Lima <br />42 parking lot and repairs/replacement of the Galtier Lift Station projects. He thought <br />43 of some opportunities for field tri r the Commission later in 2021. <br />44 <br />45 Mr. Culver thought that was a good idea. He also recommended a trip to the booster <br />46 station. He noted staff crrange a tour to visit some of the sites. <br />47 NNEW <br />48 5. Partners in Energy Upd <br />49 Environmental Manager R n Johnson introduced the Partners in Energy update. <br />50 <br />51 Mr. Jake Sedlacek, Community Relations Manager, XcA Energy, and Mr. Mike <br />52 Holsinger, Lead Facilitator from the Center of Energy and Environment made a <br />53 presentation to the Commission. <br />54 <br />55 Member Joyce explained he had a question regarding peak demand charges with <br />56 EV car charging and he did not think EV car charging was something that was being <br />57 done in Roseville. It was mentioned that EV cars are being charged overnight and <br />58 he wondered if there are any saver switches or any peak times those should not be <br />59 charging. He wondered ho se worked. <br />60 <br />61 Mr. Holsinger indicated the switches are still in use and actually there are some <br />62 new advances as well. He introduced Ms. Tammy Gunderzik to the Commission. <br />63 <br />64 Ms. Gunderzik dis sed electrical vehicle programs that Xcel is working on. <br />65 <br />66 Mr. Culver thought as the City progresses with the Xcel Energy Team, staff will <br />67 learn more about some of the opportunities. He indicated he was very interested in <br />68 how the City can work with Xcel Energy to propagate charging stations around the <br />69 City. He noted the City would love to put a couple in the parking lot but would like <br />70 to get someone to pay for them or at least help with the costs. He was also interested <br />71 in how the City can work with businesses to get more charging stations which will <br />72 motivate people to look more closely at electric vehicles. <br />73 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
