We greatly value our partnership with the City of Roseville and look forward to the opportunity to continue to <br />build on the success of Roseville's recycling program. <br />Eureka Recycling's services, programs, and policy work present solutions to the social, environmental, and health problems <br />caused by wasting. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, based in the Twin Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Eureka <br />Recycling's mission is to demonstrate that waste is preventable, not inevitable. For almost 20 years, Eureka Recycling has <br />demonstrated best practices in curbside and apartment recycling collection and processing services, education, and advocacy <br />that is recognized nationwide. We have operated our MRF in Minneapolis since 2004, with an organizational operating <br />budget of over $15 million per year. <br />Highlights of our Proposal: <br />Zero Waste Laboratory — Our thoughtful approach to processing in our single -sort MRF and reliable audits will give <br />Roseville the information they need to understand the composition of the recyclables and residual, so that together we can <br />identify opportunities to increase recycling and reduce residual. Our team is engaged in national multi -stakeholder efforts <br />that look at how recycling and zero waste can address climate change, support local economic resiliency, and tackle <br />environmental justice. These include being on the US Plastics Pact and the Circularity Council Advisory Councils and also <br />being an founding member of the Alliance for Mission Based Recyclers. <br />Living Wage/Employee Benefits: All of Eureka Recycling's staff are paid above a living wage and are provided benefits, <br />including paid -time off, health insurance, and long-term disability. Eureka Recycling is nationally recognized for these <br />practices, which have not been common in an industry that is continual recorded as being in the top ten most dangerous in <br />the US.. Our current initiatives provide over 120 living wage, green jobs. <br />Workforce Development & Investment in Career Pathways: As part of our mission -based approach to recycling and our <br />commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, Eureka Recycling invests in staff to help them develop skills and keep pace <br />with the rapidly changing industry. As a result many of our management and supervisory staff have been promoted from <br />within the organization. Please see our DEI Action Plan in Attachment D for the details of our exciting workforce <br />development and apprenticeship programs. <br />Thank you for giving us the opportunity to present this proposal to the City of Roseville.
