Capitol Region Watershed District Management Plan zozrzo;o WATERSHED ISSUES 8 GOALS
and water retention benefits that these
ROSEVILLE LITTLE CANADA natural areas provide. The District has 19
inventoried and continues to monitor
wetlands within itsjurisdiction (see Figure
LAUDERDALE MAPLEWOOD 2-9 and Appendix A). Results from wetland
r@;MW_,
lameda ifirT
Pond _ _ monitoring performed from 2007-2014 generally
2022206 indicate that the District contains wetlands of
Flit "larsh "poor" to "moderate" quality based on indices of
3= biological integrity (IBIS) of the macroinvertebrate
z' FALCON
m' HEIGHTS ,:Arl- Trout Brook and plant communities (CRWD. 2o16). None of
70 nterceptor the wetlands surveyed in the District scored in
Santas2o22600
Wedand s2o231Lo • the "excellent" category for either IBI assessment.
The low levels of species diversity and robustness
62ntto
621A06 observed in District wetlands are likely due
to watershed stressors introduced by the
surrounding land uses, stormwater inputs, and
the lack of habitat connectivity (,CRWD. 2oi6).
Arlington -Jackson wetland and Woodview
springsAINr PAUL Marsh were the only wetlands that scored in the
F III
"moderate" condition category for both plant
and macroinvertebrate IBIS historical average
Capitol Region scores (CRWD. 2oi6). The District's 2010 Wetland
Watershed Boundary
j -- Management Strategy (see Appendix F) includes
the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of
potential wetland restoration and enhancement
projects. This analysis will be updated based on
aP wetland monitoring data and natural resource
?
