Evening Mar. lU, 1953 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />309 <br /> <br />The Village Council rilet on tho above date as a continuation of its regular <br />meeting of Tuefiday, March 17th, '¥'lith the following members present: Carlson, <br />Willmus, Membrez, Connor and Haram~rsten. <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Connor at 7:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Carley reportnè. on the gravel bidf'. They were all in order but they all <br />varied and told of wanting to do the loading at their terrls. We could stock pile <br />the material in the pit or on Village property which means double handling and <br />expense. By stock piling at the pit, we only pay for what we haul out. <br /> <br />The COJ'Dlt1ittee recomJl1ended that all bids be rejected GIlrl that we re-advertise <br />with new specifications. The crushed rock hids were recommended to be rejected. <br />Hembrez moved, Hammersten seconded, that we reject all bids on gravel anò crushed <br />rock. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mellbrez fIloved, Carlson seconded, w:lt w""' re-advertise for 12,000 cu.. yds. <br />of crushed gravel according to new specifications and open bids on April 7 at <br />2:00 P.M. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The question of a loader for above material was discussed. Willmus wanted <br />more time to check on various kinds of loaders. <br /> <br />Willmus moved, Hart1l11.ursten seconded, that Vie purchase concrete pipe from the <br />North sta.r Concreto Co. of Minneapolis on basis of their low hid of 2.31+ per ft., <br />18". Roll call A;yes-(5) NRy-es-(O). <br /> <br />Willmus moved, seconded by Carlson, that we accept bid of st. Paul Corrugating <br />Co. for culverts for our seaeonal use. Roll call A;reB-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, Harnmersten seconded, that Howard Ivey be glven permission to <br />go ahead with his plan for an addition to a basement at lU17 No. Victoria providhg <br />he presents a blue print and gets approv¡:¡.l of B11ilding Inspector. Roll call <br />Ayes-(S) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mayor Connor said each department head Sh01llrl handle their own department <br />that they have been assigned to. An organization chflrt was drawn by Membrez, to <br />stRrt the discussion for our sumacr road work. Salary schedules were rliscusseð <br />as well as vacation and sick leave. A top salary of $3ho.oo per month payable on <br />the 1st and 16th was agreed on for foreman - a top salary of $t272.00 to $300.00 <br />per month payable on the 1st and 16th was agr~ed on for a grader operator for <br />1+0 hour week.
