March 30, 1953 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />~) <br />u <br /> <br />"'J <br />.I.. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date in special session with the <br />following members present: Carlson, Vlillmue, Membrez, Connor and H;.:mnn.ersten. <br /> <br />Vlillmus reported that George Donnay of Donnay-Reitz Co. would be here at <br />~(:15 to discuss the ehlmge made in the buildinß code requiring 2 K 4s im:tead of <br />2 x 28. Mayor Connor reported on conversation he had with the builders regarding <br />our new requirements. <br /> <br />Mr. Donnay ann his attorney Fred Kueppers appearbd with a two pa~e letter <br />askinè: for relief for their project from our regulations. Various matters on <br />construction were discUFsed. Donnay tolò of the hardships they would encounter <br />by adhering to our new regulations.B;y eliminatin¡; the 2 x 2 wéllls, they" woulr. <br />have to Liake the houses 6" wider and 9" longer, which Ìleans there would be <br />considerable waste of material. This would make a greater cost, and different <br />pa;yraents would have to be made by the purchaser who rna;}" not qualify unòer the addi- <br />tional cost of the ho¡;¡cf>. TheJ' were told we would contact our attorney on the <br />necessary changes and notify thera. <br /> <br />Mrs. Vlallgren, Secretary of R2Ißßey Count~¡ Library Board, presented a <br />letter frolfi them agreeing to pay $125.00 per month rental for the Old Village <br />Hall am1 storing of the truck in the garage. Ma~ror Connor r.loved, seconded by <br />Carlf,on, that the letter be received and attached to previous correspondence. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Hayes-(O). <br /> <br />The matter of Road personnel was discussed. Holiòays are included if we <br />pay on a monthly basis - two weeks sick leave allmved in anyone year but not <br />accumulative, clerk to be notified at time of illness - one week paid vé'!cation. <br />Thi~ governs regular monthly help steadily emploJ'Ad. <br /> <br />William Eiynck nas present to discuss the possibility of being the operator <br />of the road grader. He was told of the salary schedule set up, and he said he <br />could not work for that amount. The Council agreed to discuss the matter <br />further and report at our meeting on April 7th. <br /> <br />The Golden Hule mat tel' was brought up an ò dis cm, sed by the Council members. <br />I t had bHen agreed that someone should see the petitioner's, but no one had con- <br />tact,ed them.
