<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILIE <br />Continued Meeting Friday Eve. April 10, 1953 at ':00 P.M. <br /> <br />319 <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present: Carlson, Willmus, Membrez, Connor and Hammersten. <br /> <br />The Clerk read the report on Fire Tnlcks submitted by the Committee who <br />had checked on specifications and tabulating of same. D. J. Woll Co. were <br />found to be the low bidder. Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson, that we purchase <br />the 1 Ton Fire Truck from D. J. Woll Co., !l1nneapolis, Minnesota. Roll call <br />Ayes- (5) N~es-(O). <br /> <br />Herb Lynch inquired about the insurance policy coverage, asking if a <br />driver of the fire truck had an accident, would he be liable for any amount <br />stated in the policy. The Clerk presented the policy and Membrez said he would <br />check into the matter and have an answer at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Piers of Draper and Dellwood was present to inquire about the possibility <br />of grading Dellwood south of Draper so he could drive into a garage he proposes <br />to build. He would like to drive in off of Dellwood. It was suggested that he <br />build said garage 8 ft. from Dellwood facing east, and to do the best he could <br />as we could not promise that Dellwood would be graded this year or next. Maybe <br />we could go over Dellwood with the road grader and shape it up to make a better <br />surface for him to drive over. <br /> <br />Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Reimringer presented a petition asking for the grading <br />of Skillman from Hamline to Dellwood. It was suggested that the Clerk write <br />Mr. Jos. McGough and ask him to come in and discuss thè matter of grading the <br />road. <br /> <br />Lynch asked for permission to put rotating lights on fire trucks and <br />was told to have it done. <br /> <br />The Clerk was asked to write to Motor Vehicle Dept. and inquire as to <br />what forms were needed to secure tax exempt licenses for Village equipment <br />which required them. <br /> <br />The Clerk read the report on Gravel submitted by the Committee who had <br />checked on specifications and tabulating of same. Thornton Bros. being the low <br />bidder·. $1.60 per cu. yard including hauling, Willmus moved, seconded by Membrez, <br />that we purchase the Gravel for this season's needs from Thornton Bros. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />J4embrez moved, seconded by Carlson, that we authorize the purchase of <br />four cages for the Humane Officer. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, Connor seconded, that we authorize road overseer to buy <br />crushed rock for patching and emergency purposes not to exceed $499.00. Roll <br />call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Willmus reported on the conversation he had with Joe Koalska at noon. <br />Joe said he was not interested in the job at a salary of $375.00 per month. <br />After much discussion, it was suggested that we set up a job classification <br />schedule. The following were suggested: To employ a road supervisor at <br />$375 per month for a 44 hr. week, paid holidays, one week paid vacation and <br />one week sick leave. The supervisor to report at the office before starting <br />
