<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued Meeting Thurs. Eve. June 4, 1953 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date as a continuation of its <br />regular meeting of .June 2nd with the following member~ present: Carlson, <br />Membrez, Connor and Hammersten. Willmus absent. <br /> <br />The following men representing the Northern States Power Company, <br />Mr. Frank Mayer, Mr. Tretter, Mr. Lee Larson and Mr. Whitney, were pre- <br />sent to discuss the matter of bringing natural gas into Roseville. <br /> <br />They plan on running a 12" pipe north on Hamline Ave. from Hoyt as <br />far north as Millwood, with laterals running east to Fernwood, then be- <br />tween T.H. 36 and Roselawn Ave. as far east as Lexington. One line will <br />run east on Garcten to Lexington, then south to Larpenteur. (See map on <br />file) <br /> <br />They will have a B. T . U. , 90¢ per,M.. cu. ft. which price is compar- <br />able to 12¢ a gal. oil. If the proposed rates are adopted by the Council <br />and a franchise given, they will start laying the pipe in July and hope <br />to have it completed by September. <br /> <br />Mr. Mayer read the proposed ordinance governing the rules and regu- <br />lations and would like to have it approved at our meeting on June 16th <br />so they can get started at once on their construction of the pipe line <br />as the time is getting short. <br /> <br />It was suggested that as many members of the Council as can meet <br />with the above named men from Northern States Power Co. at Mr. Karon's <br />office on Friday at 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The matter of policing the Village was discussed. It was agr~ed that <br />when necessary we send the constables out on calls and pay them $2.00 per <br />hour and 7¢ per mile. Hammersten moved, seconded by Carlson, that any <br />person arrested and being found guilty for any violations in the Village <br />that the fine remain in the Village. Roll call Aye$-O¡) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Carlson, that the letter submitted by <br />Carley regarding the pipe from Robinson Lake to the new county ditch be <br />adopted and a resolution be sent to M. J.
