<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued Meet.ing Fri. Eve. ,June 19, 1953 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date as a continuation of the <br />regular meeting of Tuesday, June 16, 1953 with the following members <br />present: Carlson, Willrnus, Connor and Hammersten. CMembrez absent) <br /> <br />Mayor Connor called the meeting to order at 7:15 P.M. for the purpose <br />of discussing an ordinance granting permission to the Northern States <br />Power Co. to erect a gas plant. and use the streets, alleys, Bnd public <br />grounds for installing natural gas pipes and mains into aod through the <br />Village. The Clerk read each paragraph at a time and each was discussed. <br />It was agreed that most of the factors set out be approved. A letter <br />from Carley was read with some suggested changes which would strengthen <br />the Village position as to the placing of pipe in, on, or across Village <br />streets so they would not interfere with sanitary sewer or water pipes <br />in the future. Council members were in accord with the franchise and <br />will meet on Friday evening with the Northern States Pewer Company and <br />the Falcon Heights Council. <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Carlson, that the following four bill~ be <br />paid: <br /> <br />Northwest Publications <br />Griggs, Cooper & Co. <br /> <br />$ 7.70 <br />1420.12 <br /> <br />Hamm Brewing Co. <br />Ed Phillips Co. <br /> <br />$1837.71 <br />2277.11 <br /> <br />Ayes-(4) Nayes-CO). <br /> <br />Willmus moved, seconded by Carlson, that we accept the eaMments <br />from Hattie Seidenkranz, Theo. Labens, Esther Lebens Johnston and Emma <br />Lebens Hamburg, Peter T. & Rosalie B. McGough, August Otto, and Arnold <br />and Grace Feist. Roll call Ayes-(4) Nayes-CO). <br /> <br />Mayor Connor asked what could be done about Mr. Victor Gregerson <br />keeping horses at 2045 No. Snelling Ave., ~aying some neighbors were <br />complaining about it. The property in question i:::; zoned Farm Residence, <br />but Connor felt it should be classed as residential and was going to ask <br />Karon to clarify the different classifications and find out if horses <br />can be permitted. It seems he does not keep it clean enough to suit the <br />neighbors in Ridgewood Lane. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Connor, that Joe Woehrle be hired as <br />a truck driver at $325.00 per month and Tom Alberts as a temporary emp- <br />loyee at $1.60 per hour. Roll call Ayes-(4) Nayes-CO). <br /> <br />The question of Roma St. was brought up and Carley said he would <br />brinE in an estimate, notice of hearing, and bid forms at the next meet- <br />ing so we could conduct a hearing and advertise for bids. <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Carlson, that the Clerk get prices 00 a <br />24" floor fan (2 or 3 speed-high R.P.M. run on 2nd speed) and on an air <br />conditioner.
