<br />Page 5. <br /> <br />39 ~ <br /> <br />The clerk presented two plats submitted by Mel Hiner, Fernwood Terrace Fernwood <br />#2 and #3. Membrez moved, seconded by Hammersten, that they be referred Terrace #2 & <br />to the Village Engineer for recommendations.. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). #3 <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Membrez, that Carley draw up specifications <br />for advertising for bids on gasoline and Diesel fuel. Roll call Ayes-(5) <br />Nayes-( 0). <br /> <br />Mayor Connor brought up the question of street signs. Most of the signs <br />that were ordered have been installed and there is not much money left of <br />the $1000.00 set aside for that purpose. It was ,aggested the Village <br />purchase the signs direct from the manufacturer rather than through the <br />county Surveyor's office. The clerk was asked to check on this and report. <br />at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Connor, that the four regular employees of the <br />liquor stores' salaries be increased by 10%, effective November 1, 1953. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez reported on the meeting of the Technical Committee in regard tò <br />furnishing sewer service. Mayor Connor and Carley had been to the <br />Minneapolis Engineer's office and secured more information than from <br />St. Paul as far as a connection to their system is concerned. <br /> <br />We have a problem here in Roseville and partic1Üarly in the Lauderdale area, <br />and the residents are expecting an answer. <br /> <br />It was suggested that we get a topographical survey made of the area west <br />of Snelling Avenue between now and January 1st, if possible, so we can <br />find out what can be done. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Willmus, that Carley be instructed to start work <br />on the survey and map. Roll call 1yes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez reported on the conversation he had with Karon as requested at a <br />previous meeting regarding wages as Village Attorney. <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Connor, that effective November 1, 1953, Karon <br />be paid $175.00 per month plus stenographic help as needed and necessary <br />supplies.
