Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />Date: November 23, 2021 <br />Item Description: Review of Crosswalk Treatment Guidelines <br />Background: <br />Item No: 6 <br />The City of Roseville maintains over 90 marked crosswalks on City streets; 31 of those are <br />crosswalks that cross uncontrolled approaches of intersections. <br />City staff receive several requests for new marked crosswalks every year. Staff has applied <br />general engineering principles to determine when to mark a crosswalk and when additional <br />treatments may be needed. In order to provide better consistency from request to request and to <br />manage expectations of the public staff is suggesting that a set of guidelines be developed for use <br />as future crosswalks are considered for enhancements and treatments. <br />Last month staff presented the Ramsey County Crosswalk Policy and reviewed maps showing <br />crosswalk locations and ADT levels on roadways across the City. <br />We ask that the Commission review the proposed guidelines and provide input for staff. <br />Recommended Action: <br />Receive presentation and provide input on proposed Crosswalk Treatment Guidelines. <br />Attachments: <br />A.
