ATTACHMENT D ATTACHMENT CATTACHMENT B <br />years of the application date and the proposed activity is in substantial <br />conformancewith the approved plan as determined by the Community <br />Development Department, then the approved plan set shall dictate allowed <br />removals on the lot. <br />b.If a tree preservation plan was previously approved for the site within two (2) <br />yearsof the application date, but the proposed activity was not authorized by the <br />approved plan as determined by the Community Development Department, then <br />the approved plan shall be updated. <br />i.The updated plan set shall be administratively reviewed and finalized in <br />conjunction with the triggering permit application; <br />ii.Additional tree replacement, if deemed necessary, shall become a condition <br />of approval for the application being requested. <br />iii.The City shall not be responsible to reimburse any party for replanting which <br />hasalready occurred if the updated plan preserves more trees than initially <br />anticipated. <br />c.If the subject lot is not party to a previously approved tree preservation plan set, <br />then a new tree preservation plan in conformance with Section 1011.04(F) (G) or <br />(H) shall be submitted, administratively reviewed, and finalized in conjunction <br />with thetriggering permit application. <br />J.Replacement Tree Specifications <br />1.The minimum size for Deciduous replacement trees shall be 3-inch caliper, with each <br />caliper inch counting towards one (1) diameter breast height inch required for <br />replacement. <br />2.The minimum height for Coniferous replacement trees shall be six (6) feet with <br />credits for each replacement tree being in accordance with the following table: <br />Credit Against Required DBH <br />Replacement Inches <br />Less than 8 feet1 inch <br />8 feet to less than 12 feet2 inches <br />12 feet or greater3 inches <br />3.Replacement trees shall be from balled and burlapped, certified nursery stock as <br />defined and controlled by MN Stat. 18.44 through 18.61, the Plant Pest Act, as may <br />be amended from time to time. Replacement trees may also be from bare root stock, <br />th <br />provided the trees are planted no later than May 15in any year, and the planting is <br />inspected by the City Forester or other degreed forester or certified arborist as <br />assigned by the CommunityDevelopment Department. <br />4.Replacement trees shall be covered by a minimum 2-year guarantee in accordance <br />with Section 1011.04(M). <br />5.When heritage trees are removed,replacement trees options shall be as determined <br />by the City Forester or other degreed forester or certified arborist as assigned by the <br />Community Development Department. <br />6.Replacement trees for significant and common trees may be selected by the <br />applicant, but all final planting plans shall be subject to review and approval by the <br />City Forester or other degreed forester or certified arborist as assigned by the <br />Community Development Department, who will determine whether the proposed <br />trees are suitable to the site, are well placed, and accomplish local diversity goals. <br /> <br />
