RESOLUTION NO. 11710 <br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />st <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on 1 day of June, 2020, at 3:00 <br />p.m. <br />The following members were present: Willmus, Laliberte, Groff, Etten, and Roe; and the <br />following members were absent: None. <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION TO MAKE EXPENDITURES DURING A LOCAL EMERGENCY <br />th <br />W H EREAS, On May 29 the Mayor of Roseville has declared that a local emergency is in <br />effect; <br />WHEREAS, On June 1, 2020 the City Council extended the local emergency until June 8, <br />2020; <br />WHEREAS, the city council finds that immediate action to respond to the situation is <br />needed in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community; <br />WHEREAS, the immediate expenditure of city funds is required to respond to the <br />emergency; <br />WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 12.37 provides that during a local emergency, the governing <br />body of a city may enter into contracts and incur obligations necessary to combat the <br />disaster by protecting the health and safety of persons and property and by providing <br />emergency assistance to the victims of the disaster without compliance with procedures, <br />formalities and requirements ordinarily prescribed by law or charter. <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to make any and <br />all expenditures necessary to deal with the local emergency on behalf of the City of <br />Roseville. <br />The motion was duly seconded byMember and upon vote being taken <br />thereon, the following voted in favor thereof ____; and the following voted against: <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br /> <br />
