I am a new resident of Roseville. My fiance and I recently purchased a house near Central Park. Choosing Roseville as the city to start a home was not an accident. It was deliberate. We wanted to live in Roseville. As a member of this community, it's my goal to be active here. This is where I will raise my children. It's important for me to have a voice in how this city continues to grow and shape itself 5, 10, 20 years from now. We all want our businesses to thrive and our community to prosper. It's important to me that members of my community feel as if they are listened to and I am a great listener. I am great at analyzing all sides of an issue and making judgments based on the best information available. I believe strongly that the community has a wide variety of viewpoints, based on experience, and those viewpoints need to be channeled to those who will listen and consider them. What is your view of the role of this Commission? I believe the role of this commission is to properly plan for and implement necessary changes in planning and development in a way that is equitable, fair, and adheres to the city's principles of governing. What specific skills or experiences do you have that would be beneficial in serving on the advisory commission for which you are applying? I bring to the table, a wide variety of experience that can help shape city development and planning. 1.Degree in political science and public administration 2.Service industry experience 3.Non partisan political experience at the state capitol, observing multiple different policy arenas 4.Currently working in the solar energy industry 5.Leadership 6.Policy team for current employer (advancement of consumer friendly solar policy and awareness) 7.Fresh and ambitious perspective If you identified a second choice commission, please include skills or experiences that would be beneficial for serving on that commission. I would say that the current experience I have mentioned applies to multiple different commission areas. For environmental planning, I currently work for a solar energy installer based out of St. Paul. Our goal is to build solar energy systems for homes and businesses. I also serve as a member of our policy team, whose purpose is to advance rooftop solar policy at the state and local level, as well as bring awareness to consumers of the benefits of rooftop solar.
