Attachment A <br />C.Conditions for Single Trench: Where it is desired to lay the water service pipe and the <br />building drain or building sewer pipe less than ten feet apart, the water service pipe shall be <br />above the sewer pipe and, unless impractical, it shall be placed at least two feet above the <br />sewer and on a solid shelf excavated at one side of the trench. <br />D. Sewer Pipe: The sewer pipe shall be constructed of substantial material which is corrosion- <br />resistant and installed so as to remain watertight as approved by the Public Works Director. <br />E.Water Service Pipe: The water service pipe shall be watertight and corrosion resistant of a <br />material approved by the Public Works Director. <br />F. Foundation and Backfill: In all cases precautions shall be taken to assure a firm foundation <br />for the pipes. The intervening space between the pipes shall be backfilled with compact <br />earth. (Ord. 530, 3-20-67). <br />801.09: SUPERVISION BY PLUMBER: <br />All piping connections from curb box to house supply piping shall be made under the <br />supervision of a plumber licensed bythe City. (Ord. 399, 8-12-63; amd. 1995 Code) <br />801.10: LOCATION OF CURB STOP BOXES: <br />Curb stop boxes will be installed at a point on the property line most suitable to the property and <br />shall be left in an accurate vertical position when backfilling is completed. Curb stop boxes will <br />be installed at an approximate depth of seven (7) feet below the grade established by the City <br />Engineer. (Ord. 388, 4-22-63; amd. 1995 Code) <br />801.11: NOTICE OF CONNECTION: <br />If, from any cause, the plumber or contractor laying the service pipe should fail to have the <br />connection made at the time specified in the application, notice must be given the Chief Code <br />Enforcement Officer fixing another day on which the plumber or contractor wishes to make <br />connection. The notice must be given at least two (2) days previous to the excavation for laying <br />of the service pipe and the connection must be made before 4:30 P.M., except in special cases, <br />and then the work shall be done only upon a written order from the Chief Code Enforcement <br />Officer. (Ord. 388, 4-22-63; amd. 1995 Code) <br />801.1207: CONNECTION FEES: <br />A. Connection Permit: A permit must be obtained to connect a water service to the City <br />watermain or stubbed out water service lead. The fee for the permit shall be established by <br />City Council resolution. No permit shall be issued except to a plumber licensed by the City. <br />(Ord. 1009, 3-23-87; amd. 1995 Code) <br />B.Additional Charges: Additional charges shall be paid at the time of making application for <br />tapping of water. Taps from three-fourths inch to two inches shall be performed by the City. <br />Each tap will include the physical tapping of the watermain, the installation of the corporation <br />stop and the supplying of a curb box, riser pipe and cap to be installed by a licensed plumber. <br />The costs for thetap shall be set by City Council resolution. Installation of service line, <br />installation of curb stop and box and restoration of street surface where a curb box and service <br />lead is not installed, which charges shall be as follows: <br />1. Installation on Unsurfaced Street: Where the installation is to be on an unsurfaced street, the <br />amount to be charged shall be fixed by the Public Works Director based upon the estimated cost <br /> <br />
