REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: November 9, 2020 <br />Item No.: 5.a <br />Department ApprovalCity Manager Approval <br />Item Description:Accept Roseville Police FoundationK-9Donation <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 Longtime friends, Hugh and Julie Thibodeau,recently donated $18,000 to the Roseville Police Foundation <br />3 with a request funds be used to support the Roseville Police Department’s police K-9 program. <br />4 The police department received unanticipated news both police K-9 officers, Jagr and Ragnar, need to <br />5 retire by the end of November2020. <br />6 The Roseville Police Foundation has agreed touse Hugh and Julie Thobodeau’s $18,000 donation and will <br />7 contribute anadditional $1,000 to cover the cost of purchasing two police canines at a total cost of <br />8$19,000. <br />9 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />10 Allow the Roseville Police Department to accept the donation from Hugh and Julie Thibodeau and the <br />11 Roseville Police Foundation to be used to purchase two police canines. <br />12 F INANCIAL I MPACTS <br />13 None.
