Attachment A <br />Roseville 2020 Legislative Priorities <br />Enact Statewide Licensing of Massage Therapists <br />Currently, the State of Minnesota does not license or register massage therapists. As a result, <br />most cities, including Roseville, license massage therapists locally. Massage therapists often <br />work in multiple cities. This fact, coupled with the lack of a statewide database of massage <br />therapists, put cities at an informational disadvantage about any past violations of the law by a <br />massage therapist applicant. <br />On June 19, 2017, the Roseville City Council adopted Resolution #11423 supporting statewide <br />licensing of massage therapists. <br />The City of Roseville supports legislation that requires statewide licensure or registration of <br />massage therapists. The City of Roseville supports cities retaining the ability to regulate <br />massage therapy establishments. <br /> Approved January 27, 2020 <br /> <br /> <br />
