REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date:February 8, 2021 <br />Item No.: 7.c <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Consider Issuance of Multifamily Rental Licenses, previously revoked at 1750 & <br />1740 Marion St., and 1722 Woodbridge Ct. <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 On November 25, 2019, the Roseville City Council approved Resolution No. 11653, revoking the <br />3 Multifamily Rental Licenses for all twelve buildings owned by G & G Management for property <br />4 known as Marion Street / The Brittanys Apartments. In the resolution, (Attachment B) conditions <br />5 were added requiring the obtaining of all necessary permits related to any alterations (condition C) <br />6 specific certifications (condition G) and City Council consideration of restoration of individual <br />7 building licenses (condition H). <br />8 In August of 2020, G & G Management entered into a contract with Core Living for property <br />9 management of all twelve properties. Since September 2020, numerous permits for repairs have been <br />10 obtained by contractors working on corrections to roofing issues, window and fire door <br />11 replacements, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems. <br />12 Staff has confirmed that Core Living employs a certified residential manager and a certified <br />13 residential maintenance technician on these properties. <br />14 A new license application has been submitted for these three buildings and all required fees have <br />15 been paid. <br />16 On January 21, 25, 27 and February 2, 2021, Roseville Fire and Building inspectors conducted a <br />17 complete building inspection of each of these three buildings, including all individual units. A few <br />18 minor violations were noted. No life safety violations or infestations were observed by staff. <br />19 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />20 Multifamily Rental Dwellings (MRDs) with 5 or more units in Roseville are decent, safe, <br />21 sanitary, and well maintained. The operation of an MRD is a business enterprise that entails <br />22 responsibilities. Operators are responsible to assure that residents and children may pursue <br />23 the normal activities of life in surroundings that meet the following criteria: safe, secure, and <br />24 sanitary; free from crimes and criminal activity, noises, nuisances, or annoyances; and free <br />25 from unreasonable fears about safety of persons and security of property. <br />26 B UDGET I MPLICATIONS <br />27 All necessary fees pursuant to licensing of these three Multifamily Rental Dwellings have been paid <br />28 to the City. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
