REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date:February 8, 2021 <br />Item No.: 7.d <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Consider Commission Reappointment for 2021 <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 At the January 4, 2021 meeting, Council discussed, reappointed various commissioners for 3-year <br />3 terms and declared any vacancies. During that discussion, Council asked staff to reach out to <br />4 commissioners who have not met the threshold outlined in city code regarding attendance prior to <br />5 making a determination on reappointment. <br />6 <br />7 Chapter 201 of the Uniform Commission Code states: <br />8 F. Attendance: It is the expectation that Commissioners attend all meetings of the <br />9 commission. An absence s considered the same whether it is excused or unexcused. If <br />10 a commissioner is absent three consecutive meetings and/or misses a total of 30% or <br />11 more of commission meetings in a rolling 12-month period, the staff liaison or <br />12 commission chair will forward the information to the City Council. <br />13 <br />14 Commissioners are appointed to terms that begin April 1 of each year.
