I urge you to really
think about this ban. We are living in very tough enough times and I would like to think that
each and every one of you would prefer to help the businesses that reside in Roseville, rather
than hurt them. Businesses that sell tobacco products in Roseville are not the problem. These
retailers do everything to keep restricted tobacco OUT of the hands of under age consumers!
I have done extensive research regarding this topic. According to the CDC, cigarettes have
become unpopular amongst the youth and they have a preference to the E-Cigarette. This
product is easily attained through online purchasing, and difficult in brick and mortar
locations. The CDC states that in 2020, 4.7% middle school students claimed to have used an
E-cig in the past 30 days. This is down from 10.5% from 2019. In 2020 19.6% of High school
students reported using an E-Cig device which is a decrease from 27.5% in 2019!
Please keep in mind that your city's businesses are here to continue to work with you
preventing the sale to minors, regardless of flavor or unflavored, that will not change! Please
know that you will SIGNIFICANTLY hurt their business if you take away the flavored tobacco to
