<br /> RFP for City of Roseville Recycling Services  A-3 <br />High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) – Natural <br />Plastic bottles and thermoforms made from high density polyethylene resin without pigment or <br />coloring (e.g., milk jugs, gallon water jugs, and ice cream pails). <br /> <br />Holidays <br />Days on which recycling service is deferred one calendar day, including January 1, Memorial <br />Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. <br /> <br />Market Indicator <br />Commodity price indices as per the recycling industry publication specified in the Contract. <br /> <br />Markets <br />Any person or company that buys (or charges) for recycling of specified materials and may <br />include but are not limited to: end-markets, intermediate processors, brokers, and other recycling <br />material reclaimers. <br /> <br />Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) <br />A facility in which recyclable materials are processed. The facility will conform to all applicable <br />rules, regulations and laws of state, local or other jurisdictions. <br /> <br />Multi-Unit Dwellings <br />A building or a portion thereof containing five or more dwelling units. <br /> <br />Multi-Unit Dwelling Recycling Containers <br />Recycling containers used for multi-unit dwellings, including any bin, cart, dumpster, or other <br />receptacle for temporary storage and collection of designated Recyclables from residents in <br />multi-unit dwellings prior to collection. Such recycling containers must be separate, explicitly <br />labeled with text and graphics as to Recyclables included, and colored differently from other <br />containers for mixed solid waste or trash. <br /> <br />Multi-Unit Dwelling Recycling Service <br />Recycling collection service, together with related public education and other customer services, <br />provided to multi-unit dwelling residents that utilize multi-unit dwelling recycling containers, <br />defined above, and use multi-unit dwelling recycling stations, defined below. <br /> <br />Multi-Unit Dwelling Recycling Stations <br />The location of Multi-Unit Dwelling recycling containers will be designated by the City the <br />Contractor and the Multi-Unit Dwelling building owner. Multi-Unit Dwelling recycling stations <br />will likely be a cluster of recycling carts and/or Recycling dumpsters. <br /> <br />Non-Targeted Materials <br />Non-recyclable materials that are not included in the City’s recycling program. Examples of non- <br />targeted items include but are not limited to: pumps on plastic bottles, ceramic materials, heavily <br />coated paper packaging, etc. <br />
