5
‐ to make an actual, physical park dedication instead of cash‐in‐lieu, thus fulfilling the real intent
of the ordinance, to help the City "fulfill its plans for ...open spaces"

‐ to provide room for replacement trees and save two "Significant" trees, in answer to the
concern held by many area residents about losing nearly all the existing trees and the feeling
that although the Tree Replacement policy is being followed to its letter, it is not in its spirit

‐ to preserve the neighborhood character and our unique sense of place in this woodsy
neighborhood, especially along Galtier Street. The many lake walkers would also benefit by
having a wooded area in lieu of a home on Lot 1, especially for the vista seen when walking the
curving lake path from west to east.

The Planning Commissioners added a condition to their plat plan approval to "beef up the trees
along the west side of Lot 1" [actual wording left to staff to write]. This is appreciated, but because
my question was misconstrued, I restate it again: Would you consider the land of Lot 1 as a park
dedication, dedicate the land of Lot 1 as an area filled with existing and replacement trees, and
reduce the total number of homes in the development to 19 homes on Lots 2‐20?

Thank you very much for considering my question. Sincerely,

Susan Love
RCA Attachment D
