<br />Fair Housing Month <br />April 2021 <br />Whereas:The month of April marks the anniversary of the passage of the Federal Fair <br />Housing Law of 1968, recognizing that no American should have their right to purchase or rent <br />shelter of choice abridged because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or <br />national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity; and <br />Whereas: Equality of opportunity for all is a fundamental policy of this nation and the City <br />of Roseville; and <br />Whereas: The location that people live has a direct impact on the quality of their health, <br />education and access to economic opportunities; and <br />Whereas: Discriminatory housing practices create racial and economic segregation in <br />communities that can lead to disparate outcomes in overall quality of life; and <br />Whereas: Economic stability, community health, and human relations in all communities <br />are improved by diversity and integration; and <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to promoting housing choices and fostering <br />inclusive communities, free from housing discrimination; and <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville adopted a Fair Housing Policy on November 5, 2018 which <br />provides for meaningful access to information about fair housing on the city’s website and <br />outlines steps the city will take to promote awareness and sensitivity to fair housing issues in all <br />of its government functions; and <br />Whereas: The City Council establishes the City of Roseville as an inclusive community <br />committed to fair housing by applying this to its housing programs and services; and promotes <br />appropriate activities by private and public entities intended to provide or advocate for equal <br />housing opportunities for all residents and prospective residents of Roseville; <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare April 2021, to be Fair <br />Housing Month in the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br />nd <br />22day of March, 2021. <br />________________________ <br />Mayor Daniel J.
