Commissioner Boulton asked about the option to rent cross-country skis and the potential for cross- <br />country ski lessons. Staff responded that cross-country skis and snowshoes are available to rent from <br />City Hall. In addition, staff relayed that cross-country ski lessons were previously offeredbut were <br />discontinued due to lack of participation and limited availability of snow grooming equipment. <br />5) ANNUAL REVIEW OF PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION EDUCATION <br />PRIMER <br />Staff provided a brief history of the Parks and Recreation Commission Primer: <br /> Created by the Commission <br /> Provides a brief overview of topics commonly discussed by the Commission <br /> Reviewed yearly <br /> <br />Chair Hoag suggested removing or updating the “Renewal Fund information” on page 6 of the <br />primer as there is limited money left in these funds. <br />Commissioner Baggenstoss relayed that he agrees the language for the “Renewal Fund information” <br />on page 6 should be updated. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lenhart asked how the Commission influences the budget. Chair Hoag responded <br />that the City Council is responsible for setting the budget. Staff relayed that any budget feedback or <br />ideas are always welcome. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lenhart suggested adding yearly city milestones, including the budget timing to the <br />primer. She also suggested having the budget available at a future commission meeting. Finally, she <br />relayed that she knows there is a huge need for early childhood classes in the community. <br />Commissioner Arneson asked if there was a date set for the next Community Visioning Process. <br />Staff answered that there is not a specific date currently but more information will be available in <br />2022. <br />Chair Hoag suggested potentially reviewing and updating the Parks and Recreation Commision <br />goals. <br />6) STAFF REPORT <br />a) NEW OR RELEVANT COMMUNICATIONS AND UPDATE ITEMS <br /> Operations Update <br />o State Gymnastics Meet – participant totals surpassed pre-pandemic levels <br />o Outdoor Girls Classic Pond Hockey Tournament – 500 skaters participated (plus <br />spectators) <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
