Amended motion below: <br />Member Wozniak moved, Member Spencer seconded, that the Commission <br />inform the City Council that the Commission would support City efforts to <br />address and mitigate climate change such as, but not specifically declaring a <br />climate emergency in Minnesota. The Commission stands ready to address <br />some of the elements of that proposed resolution but are not yet ready to <br />endorse it. The Commission will plan to consider this resolution in more detail <br />at their January meeting. The Commission would be happy to serve in any <br />capacity that the City Council wishes in order to implement this should the <br />resolution be approved. <br />Ayes: 5 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />City Engineer Jesse Freihammer provided a brief review and update on projects <br />and maintenance activities listed in the staff report dated November 23, 2021. <br />5. Commission Youth Member Applicant <br />Mr. Culver explained the PWETC currently has an opening for a youth member. <br />Staff has received one application for the Commission. He reviewed the applicants' <br />information with the Commission. <br />The Commission interviewed Rose Gasongo who applied for the Youth <br />Commissioner position. <br />Motion <br />Member Cicha moved, Member Misra seconded, to recommend the City <br />Council appoint Rose Gasongo to the PWETC as Youth Commissioner. <br />Ayes: 5 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />6. Review of Crosswalk Treatment Guidelines <br />Mr. Culver explained the City of Roseville maintains over 90 marked crosswalks <br />on City streets; 31 of those are crosswalks that cross uncontrolled approaches of <br />intersections. He made a presentation to the Commission. <br />Member Spencer asked on the new path that was installed at South McCarron, the <br />Enclave, if that is going to be painting. <br />Mr. Freihammer indicated that was recently painted. <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />
