<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued meeting, Monday Evening, December 21, 1953, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date as a. continuation of the <br />continued meeting of Friday Evening, December 18, 1953, with the <br />following members present: Carlson, Willmus, Connor, and Hamm8l"f'ten, <br />Membrez absent. Ira Karon, Village Attorney, was also present. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Connor, that a resolution be drawn up <br />accepting plat of Hub Plaza shopping center, and if necessary, an <br />experienced, r6cognized building inspector be employed to check <br />construction. Roll'call Ayes-(4) Nayesw(O). <br /> <br />The hearing on the vacating of Dunlap St. was declared open by Mayor <br />Connor. Mr. Benson of 1728 Dunlap moved that the hearing be postponed <br />because so many people were shopping. He not being a member of the <br />council, his motion was out of order and the hearing continued. <br /> <br />Mr. Laska, an adjoining property owner, said he was in favor of <br />vacating Dunlap St. as it was only two blocks long and dead end on <br />both ends. <br /> <br />Mr. Truedell, who is the owner of the Seidenkranz property on the <br />south side of Dionne St. west of Lexington, inquired as to what would <br />happen to Dionne St. and if Dunlap St. was vacated who would pay for <br />the grading of Dionne St. He was told that the adjoining property <br />owners could be assessed for the work. <br /> <br />After a lot of discussion and explanation of the model of the proposed <br />building by Mr. Krannak, a compromise was reached and agreed to by <br />the people present. <br /> <br />Connor moved, seconded by Carlson, that the proper resolution be <br />drawn up by Mr. Karon, Village Attorney, that Dunlap St. be vacated <br />providing <br />1. That Dionne St. be constructed and surfaced by the developers. <br />2. No access from Dunlap St. to the upper parking lot~ <br />3. That proper drainage be taken care of and shown on a map <br />to be prepared t)y Carley. <br />Roll call Ayes...(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Connor, that licenses be issued to <br />O.B. Thompson Electric Co. - 5609 Chicago Ave., Minneapolis <br />Arne Electric of ~linneapolis - 1805 W. 90th St., Minneapolis <br />Hillcrest Electric - 1418 White Bear Ave., St. Paul <br />Tony Muska - 700 Grand Ave., St. Paul <br />Roll call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, second.ed by Connor, that the meeting be continued <br />to Monday Evening, December 28, 1953, at 7:30 P.M.
