Attachment B 1 EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING 2 OF THE 3 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE 4 5 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 6 7 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of 8 Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 28th day ofFebruary 2022, at 9 6:00 p.m. 10 11 The following members were present: , , , , and Mayor . 12 and the following were absent: . 13 14 Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: 15 16 17 RESOLUTION No. 18 19 Resolution 20 21 22 WHEREAS, the City Council, on December 7, 2015, approved Ordinance 1490 creating a 23 revised and updated Tree Preservation and Restoration in all Districts; and 24 25 WHEREAS, Section 1011.041.8. b of said ordinance established a payment in-lieu of tree 26 replacement option; and 27 28 WHEREAS, on July 11, 2016 the City Council established a Tree Replacement Policy; and 29 30 WHEREAS, the Emerald Ash Borer infestation will result in a loss of more than 900 public ash 31 trees from the City’s urban forest in the next four years; and 32 33 WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation staff have discussed the use of Tree Replacement funds to 34 replace removed ash tree with the Community Development Department, Finance Department. 35 Public Works Department and Tree Board; and 36 37 WHEREAS, use of Tree Replacement Fund dollars to replace removed ash trees accomplishes 38 the stated goal of the Section 1011.04 of replacing lost trees because of their value to the 39 community. 40 41 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the use of Tree 42 Replacement Fund dollars for the planting of trees on public lands within the City of Roseville to 43 replace lost ash trees.
