Said notification will entail an email
sent through the permit and licensing software (Accela) informing the license holders that their current
license will be expiring. Along with this information, the license holders will be instructed on how to
apply for a new license if they intend to continue to rent their property on a short-term basis.
Depending on the status of these licenses, the 2022 Fee Schedule includes a $100 penalty for failure
to renew within 5 days, which would be imposed as necessary.
P OLICY O BJECTIVE
To ensure that non-owner-occupied short-term rentals of dwelling units are operated and maintained
so as not to become a nuisance to the surrounding neighborhood or a blight that causes deterioration
or creates a disincentive to reinvest in the community.
B UDGET I MPLICATIONS
Each license generates $515 of license revenue.
