Sustainable Roseville
What we've done
TASTE OF ROSEFEST 2919 `
ZERO WASTE EVENT SUMMARY
Eureka Recycling is always excited to collaborate with the City of Roseville and the Roseville Rotary to work
towards zero waste at the annual Taste of Rosefest This was our fifth year working together, and we are
proud to have maintained our shared vision of zero waste_
Taste of Rosefest 2019
Tablecloths ■ Trash ■ RecycRnp ■ Compostables
With the help and cooperation from Rotary
members, volunteers, vendors, and attendees, we
together recycled 286.6lbs of cardboard, glass
bottles, aluminum cans, pizza boxes, and we
composted 317lbs of food scraps and
compostable foodware. The event generated only
16.3lbs of materials that could neither be
composted or recycled (not including the vinyl
tablecloths.) We reduced vendor trash in half this
year by working with vendors to keep their film
plastic clean and dry, collecting separately, and
then delivering to Trex Decking in Minneapolis, a
company that recycles film plastic into composite
decking and outdoor furniture. In total, we
diverted 97%of materials from being Iandfilled
or incinerated. A 7% increase in diversion from
2018! Congratulations!
