171 Amended motion below: <br />172 Member Wozniak moved, Member Spencer seconded, that the Commission <br />173 inform the City Council that the Commission would support City efforts to <br />174 address and mitigate climate change such as, but not specifically declaring a <br />175 climate emergency in Minnesota. The Commission stands ready to address <br />176 some of the elements of that proposed resolution but are not yet ready to <br />177 endorse it. The Commission will plan to consider this resolution in more detail <br />178 at their January meeting. The Commission would be happy to serve in any <br />179 capacity that the City Council wishes in order to implement this should the <br />180 resolution be approved. <br />181 <br />182 Ayes:5 <br />183 Nays:0 <br />184 Motion carried. <br />185 <br />186 City Engineer Jesse Freihammer provided a brief review and update on projects <br />187 and maintenance activities listed in the staff report dated November 23, 2021. <br />188 <br />189 5. Commission Youth Member Applicant <br />190 Mr. Culver explained the PWETC currently has an opening for a youth member. <br />191 Staff has received one application for the Commission. He reviewed the applicants' <br />192 information with the Commission. <br />193 <br />194 The Commission interviewed Rose Gasongo who applied for the Youth <br />195 Commissioner position. <br />196 <br />197 Motion <br />198 Member Cicha moved, Member Misra seconded, to recommend the City <br />199 Council appoint Rose Gasongo to the PWETC as Youth Commissioner. <br />200 <br />201 Ayes:5 <br />202 Nays:0 <br />203 Motion carried. <br />204 <br />205 6. Review of Crosswalk Treatment Guidelines <br />206 Mr. Culver explained the City of Roseville maintains over 90 marked crosswalks <br />207 on City streets; 31 of those are crosswalks that cross uncontrolled approaches of <br />208 intersections.
