41Two representatives from the development company, Edison Land, LLC, were present at the <br />42meeting to provide additional information on the development and answer and questions. They noted <br />43that thereare many on-site recreationamenities provided for residents of the development, <br />44including: fitness centers, community rooms, sport court, green space, swimming pool, sun deck, <br />45walkingtrail with fitness equipment, rain garden, dog walk area and playground. The developers <br />46worked with thecity to connect pathways between the development and Sandcastle Park. The <br />47developer discussed potentially purchasing a parcel next to the development asa potential land <br />48dedication. <br />49 <br />50Commissioner Matts-Benson asked what amenities are currently at Sandcastle Park. Staff noted that <br />51there is a play structure, park building, ice rinks, tennis court, basketball courtand a sandlot baseball <br />52field. <br />53 <br />54The developer defined where the pathways are located throughout the development. Commissioner <br />55Arneson questioned ifresidents wouldfeel comfortable going to acitypark located within the <br />56development. <br />57 <br />58Staff noted that there could be potential opportunity to adjust the amenities at Sandcastle Park to <br />59better fit with the needs of the neighborhood. <br />60 <br />61Vice-Chair Hoag relayed that he believes Sandcastle Park,coupled with the amenities of the new <br />62development,cover the needs of the residents in Constellation A. <br />63 <br />64Commissioner Boulton made a motion to recommend cash in lieu of land,in the amount <br />65of$1,015,750,to the City Council to satisfy Park Dedication at 3080-3110Old Highway <br />668.
