<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILIE <br />Regular meeting Tuesday, May 4, 1954 at 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: <br />Carlson, Willmus, Salverda, Olson and Hammersten. B. Loftsgaarden, Villa.ge <br />Attorney, and M. Carley, Engineer were also present. <br /> <br />Olson moved, Willmus seconded that the minutes of the last meeting be <br />approved according to the copies mailed the members of the Council. Roll <br />Call Ayes-(S) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Clerk read petition for the rezoning of the George Guligowski property. <br />He wants to rezone lots 11 and 12. Blk "'from a residential district <br />to a business district. All the people involved were sent cards notifying <br />them of t he rezoning and the zoning board met at the Village Hall May 3. <br />Due to the opposition this petition was held over for 1 week for more <br />information from Guligowski on what he intends to build. }irs. Fred Best, <br />who lives on the 2nd lot North from the corner on the West side of Dellwood <br />said she understood that Guligowski wants to build a store and have living <br />quarters above it. The property on all 4 corners, which take in 140 ft. <br />each is now zoned as a business district. <br /> <br />Olson moved, Hammersten seconded that we lay the matter over for another <br />week. Roll Call Ayes-(5) N~s-(O). <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Olson seconded that the bids on Oiler be opened. Roll <br />Call Ayes-(5) N~s-(O). <br /> <br />Clerk read bids on Oiler which include the following: <br /> <br />Wm. Bros. Boiler ¥~g. Co., <br />Frawley Equipment Co. <br />Ruffridge Johnson <br />Rosholt Equipment Co. <br /> <br />3499.25 <br />3824.00 <br />4230.50 <br />4565.00 <br /> <br />Hanmersten moved, Olson seconded t hat the bids be referred to the engineer <br />for tabulating. Ro~ Call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The Mayor at this time asked if anyone present wanted to be heard. <br /> <br />A.J. Schmitz, 925 Lovell appeared to ask an extension of time to operate <br />his woodworking business at his home until such time as he gets his place <br />of business finished. He also appeared July 7, 1953 and asked for an <br />extension of time. At this time the Council gave him 60 days in which <br />to move. Up to t he present time nothing has been done about it. <br /> <br />Mr. Schmitz presented the Council with a letter he had received from the <br />contractor, who is going to construct his place of business. The Contractor <br />states that due to the frost in the ground and now because of road re- <br />strictions he has been unable to start the building, Many residents in Rose.. <br />ville has called up and reported this man, as he has been definitely viola-- <br />ting the building code., and something should be done about it soon. He <br />had promised the Village Council that he would take the necessary steps to <br />discontinue his woodworking at his home, and as soon as restrictions are <br />lifted he will proceed to finish the building as soon as possible. <br /> <br />487 <br /> <br />Rezoning of <br />Geo.
