REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: June 6, 2022 <br /> Item No.: 10.h <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Approve Changes to City Proclamation Policy <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 At its May 23, 2022 meeting, the City Council reviewed changes to the City’s Proclamation Policy <br />3 brought forward by Mayor Roe. The City Council discussed changes proposed by Mayor Roe and made <br />4 suggestions for additional edits. As a result of the discussion, the City Council directed staff to bring <br />5 forward a modified version of the Proclamation Policy to the next meeting for approval. <br />6 <br />7 Attachment A is a redlined version of the policy showing the changes proposed from the existing policy. <br />8 Attachment B is a clean version of the new policy. <br />9 <br />10 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />11 There are two Community Aspirations that are relevant as part of a discussion of a Proclamation Policy. <br />12 The first is the City aspires to be “Welcoming, inclusive, and respectful”. The second relevant aspiration <br />13 states the City aspires to be “Engaged in our community’s success as citizens, neighbors, volunteers, <br />14 leaders, and business people”. In addtion, the City Council adopted an Inclusion and Respect Statement <br />15 that says in part, “The City of Roseville strives to be a welcoming and inclusive place for all.
