REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: June 20, 2022 <br /> Item No.:7.d <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description:Receive update on IAP2 Staff Training <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 In April and May of 2022, 16 City staff membersrepresenting each department within the city, <br />3 participated in two weeks of ½ day trainings through the International Association of Public <br />4 Participation (IAP2). The trainings covered the foundations and techniques to effective public <br />5 participation. These trainings were designed to provide key staff members with a framework and <br />6 understanding to help enhance and provide for successful public participation throughout the <br />7 city. Staff will provide a brief update on the training and next steps. <br />8 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />9 The city’s approved Strategic Racial Equity Action Plan (SREAP) as well as the city’s Racial <br />10 Equity Narrative detail the city’s commitment to providing an inclusive community.
