CITY OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA <br />NOTES TO FINANCIAL STATEMENTS <br />December 31, 2021 <br />G.PensionExpense and Deferred Outflows of Resources and Deferred Inflows of <br />Resources Related to Pensions <br />For the year ended December 31, 2021, the City recognized a reduction of pension expense <br />of $587,843. At December 31, 2021, the City reported deferred outflows of resources and <br />deferred inflows of resources related to pensions from the following sources: <br />Deferred Deferred <br />Outflows of Inflows of <br />ResourcesResources <br />Difference between expected and actual liability $ -$ - <br />Changes in acturial assumptions - - <br />Net difference between projected and actual investment earnings -2,763,258 <br />$ -$2,763,258 <br />Amounts reported as deferred outflows of resources and deferred inflows of resources <br />related to pensions will be recognizedin pension expense as follows: <br />Year ending <br />December 31, <br />2022($762,458) <br />2023(1,025,772) <br />2024(642,769) <br />2025(332,259) <br />Total ($2,763,258) <br />Note 5OTHERPOST-EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS <br />A.Plan Description <br />In addition to providing the pension benefits described in Note 4, the City provides post-employment <br />health care benefits (as defined in paragraph B) for retired employees and police and firefighters <br />disabled in the line of duty, through a single employer defined benefit plan. The term Plan refers to <br />plan is by the City. The authority to provide these benefits is established in Minnesota Statutes <br />Sections 471.61 Subd. 2a, and 299A.465. The benefits, benefit levels, employee contributions and <br />employer contributions are governed by the City and can be amended by theCity through its <br />personnel manual and collective bargaining agreements with employee groups. The Plan is not <br />accounted for as a trust fund, as an irrevocable trust has not been established to account for the plan. <br />The Plan does not issue a separate financial report. <br />74 <br /> <br />
