REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: July 11, 2022 <br /> Item No.: 7.b <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Public Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission Joint Meeting <br />with the City Council <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 Each year, the Public Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission meets with the City <br />3 Council to review activities and accomplishments and to discuss the upcoming year’s work plan and <br />4 issues that may be considered. The following are activities over the past year and issues the <br />5 Commission would like to take up in the next year: <br />6 Activities and accomplishments: <br />7 o Pathway Master Plan Amendment <br />8 o Implementation of City Energy Action Plan <br />9 o Proposed Climate Emergency Resolution <br />10 o Review of Crosswalk Crossing Guidelines <br />11 o Second Annual Sustainability Super Meeting topics included <br />12 o Review of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations <br />13 o Microplastics <br />14 Work Plan items for the upcoming year: <br />15 o No Mow May and other Pollinator Friendly Programs <br />16 o Takeout food containers <br />17 o Consideration of modified speed limits on city streets <br />18 o Update on Solar Panels and Community Solar Garden subscriptions <br />19 o Update on Roseville area transit system <br />20 o Development of Bike Network Plan <br />21 o Regular Annual Items – MS4 Annual Report, Eureka Annual Report, Review of proposed <br />22 Utility Rates, Public Works 2023 Work Plan, Green Step Cities Update. <br />23 Questions or Concerns for the City Council: <br />24 o The Commission briefly discussed whether our name and current Commission charge <br />25 accurately reflect our ongoing work.
